Clyde Challenger will be embarking on an exhilarating tour of the UK and Ireland during February and March 2014 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Scottish Series.

The Scottish Series is one of the largest and most well renowned events in the UK yachting calendar attracting competing yachts from all over the country. Organised by the Clyde Cruising Club, this year's event will be taking place in the scenic village of Tarbert on the West of Scotland from 23-26th May 2014.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this event, four days of sailing and on shore hospitality will begin with the 'Clyde Challenger Passage Race' which will see competing yachts sail from Gourock to Tarbert. Sponsored by Clyde Challenger, the race contenders will be will be joined at the start line by this famous ocean racing yacht that has circumnavigated the globe on four occasions as part of the Clipper Ventures round the world yacht race.

In anticipation of the Scottish Series, Clyde Challenger (previously known as the Chrysolite Clipper) will be inviting sailing enthusiasts from across the UK to come on board and get up close and personal with this first generation clipper 60 yacht. The crew will be on hand to tell visitors more about the history of the yacht and what they can expect from the 40th anniversary Scottish Series. Event sponsors will deliver evening presentations on the Scottish Series and assistance will be provided in the completion of applications, obtaining handicaps and answering questions about the event.

Destinations for the Clyde Challenger Scottish Series tour include ports and yacht clubs in the Clyde Estuary, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales, England and the Isle of Man. Starting in February at James Watt Dock, the voyage will continue to Rhu, Kip, Largs, Ardrossan and Troon, before sailing to Belfast, Bangor, Dublin, Pwllheli, Liverpool and the Isle of Man in March.
