Taeping is now back in the water at Kip Marina and it’s time to refit equipment, renew some electrical systems and start the testing processes before we head out for our pre season training and sea trials.
March will see the winter maintenance sessions extend to running four days a week from Thursday to Sunday through to the end of March. Registration is open to all volunteers who will continue to earn volunteer day credits towards sailing on this iconic yacht.
With the volunteer option to reignite lost days expiring at the end of March now is the time to get involved.
During March we will be concentrating on getting the many jobs finished off and thoroughly testing the yacht’s systems which have been worked on during the winter refit.
The exact tasks to be undertaken each day will depend on the the weather.
During the refit volunteers will have access to an onshore office for refreshments and lunch. Volunteers should bring their own lunch. We will provide Tea, Coffee and refreshments during the day. Please note Cafe Riva has now reopened for the season.
You should wear warm clothing appropriate for winter in Scotland and that you don’t mind getting dirty. We will provide Personal Protective Equipment where appropriate and safety briefs will be provided onsite.
To book on just select your day or days using the form below. Taeping is located on the inside of B pontoon hammerhead and each maintenance day will start at 09:30 at the office and finish at 16:00.
