Scottish Series 2018 Event ID: May2418TC Event Type: Public, Open to all Event Class: Racing, with time ashore (Including Free race training day) Event Status: Confirmed Skipper: Daniel Smith (Subject to Change) Description: In May the scenic west coast village of Tarbert, Loch Fyne will once again welcome yachts for 4 days of competitive racing.  Why not join us as we participate in the white sail (or cruising) class.  Taeping will participate in the Friday and Sunday passage races.  The event will begin on Thursday at 10:00 am when you join the yacht at Kip Marina.  We will then have a day of race training and familiarisation before joining the pre race social gathering at Largs marina. Friday will see us race from Largs to Tarbert with the white sail fleet before enjoying a crew dinner.  On Saturday you will have a free day as Taeping will be taking some local youths out for a taster.  Sunday will see a return to racing as we participate in the round Inchmarnock race.  Monday will then see us sail back to Kip Marina. Event organisers The Clyde Cruising Club will once again be hosting a number of shore side activities as well as the fantastic programme of events for yacht sailors. Ireland Join us for a few days of mile-building in the Clyde Estuary and North Channel.  With race training thrown in the trip promises to be a busy one with long sailing days planned. Joining the yacht after 18:00 on the 8th June at Kip Marina we will undertake some safety and training briefs in the evening before departing Kip Marina on the 9th June.  With a flexible plan we aim to arrive into Rathlin Island by the evening of 11th June. You will need to depart by noon on the 12 June for ferry transfer to Ballycastle and onward travel.   Cost: £295 per person inclusive of all onboard costs, £150 non refundable deposit. St. Kilda Challenge inc LochMaddy Festival Event ID:  Jun0817TC Skipper (Subject to change): Daniel Smith Event Type: Public Event, “Open to All” Event Class: Challenge (overnight sailing with a watch system) Event Status: Confirmed Description: Inverkip, Scotland to Oban via Rathlin Island, St. Kilda and Loch Maddy (with time Ashore) Join us for an expanded St. kilda Challenge in 2018 as we join forces with Comann na Mara in their Bi-Annual St. Kilda event.  In 2018 the Ocean Sailing Scotland St. Kilda challenge is a three stage event starting at our home marina of Kip.  Heading out into the Clyde we will undertake three days of ocean race training as we sail to Rathlin Island where we will stop to join the rest of the race fleet and undertake some final preperations. The 14th June will then see us join the St. Kilda Challenge passage race fleet as we cross the start line for a race to the stunning St. Kilda Archipelago.  Weather permitting we will then spend some time at anchor, hopefully allowing you to spend time ashore in this amazing historical location. We will then plan to undertake a night sail to arrive into Lochmaddy on Saturday 16th June to enjoy the onshore festival organised by Comann na Mara.  With prize giving over we will then depart for Oban on the 19th June.  Stopping in some of the west coast’s stunning locations we plan to arrive into Oban on the 21st June.  Crew will need to depart by noon on the 22 June   Cost: £1465 per person inclusive of all onboard costs, £250 non refundable deposit. West Coast Milebuilder Cruise Event ID:  Jun1817TC Skipper (Subject to change): Daniel Smith Event Type: Public Event, “Open to All” Event Class: Cruise (Day sailing with overnight stops) Event Status: Confirmed Description: Loch Maddy, North Uist to Oban Join us for a milebuilder cruise through the stunning Islands of Scotland’s west coast as we take our Clipper 60 from the Outer Hebrides to the mainland port of Oban.  With some great sailing days and nights at anchor or in port this is one of our favourite and most popular sailing areas. Head out to North Uist with a number of travel options including the famous Barra beach airport to join the yacht on the 18th June.  With safety and operational briefings taking place in the evening it will be time to head off into the west coast’s waters on the 19th June.  Estimating our arrival into Oban on the evening of 21st June you will need to leave by noon on the 22 June. Travel back to Glasgow on one of Scotland’s most scenic rail routes from where international destinations can be easily reached.   Cost: £295 per person inclusive of all onboard costs, £150 non refundable deposit.
