Taeping Maintenance Event ID: Oct1617TC Registered Volunteers are welcome to join the sea staff as we get Scotland’s Clipper 60 ready for her lift out and refit. With a list of tasks to complete to get the yacht ready for lift out we will be destowing the yacht and prepping her for getting the mast off and lifted out at Kip Marina. Please note there are limited facilities onboard during this stage of the refit so volunteers should bring a packed lunch with them. Each day will start at 10:00 and finish by 16:00. Tea, Coffee and snacks will be provided. If you are able to come along and help just book a place using the form below. Remember for every day you contribute you will qualify for one day sailing at a reduced rate until the end of the Season in 2019. Porter Event Type: Public Event, “Open to All” Event Class: Challenge Race (Race with overnight sailing and a watch system) Event Status: Provisional Description: Rathlin Island, NI to LochMaddy, Scotland via St. Kilda (No time ashore) Join us for our annual St. Kilda Challenge. In 2018 we will be joining the race fleet for the Bi-Annual Comman Na Mara festival. Scotland’s clipper 60 will be taking part in the Passage race which will start from Rathlin Island, Northern Ireland. With a 200 Nautical Mile passage we will be racing with the fleet of yachts round the St. Kilda Archipelago to the finish line on the west side of the sound of Harris. Heading on to LochMaddy there will then be some time to enjoy the festivities onshore. Note there will be no landing on St. Kilda during this event, however we will be landing on the 2019 St. Kilda Challenge Expect to do overnight sailing with a watch system in place as we race our Clipper 60. Following time on St. Guests can expect to depart by 12:00 on 17 June. Cost: £565 per person inclusive of all onboard costs, £250 non refundable deposit.
